The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School and Pittsburgh radio station KDKA honored nine teachers this school year for outstanding dedication to their students.
Teachers honored for the 2009-2010 school year are: Kara Kowalczyk of Pittsburgh; Kelly Harsh of Beaver Falls; Nikki Brelloch of Monaca; Brandy Napoli of New Castle; Janice Gural of Shippingport; Natasha Vasquez Lee of Squirrel Hill; Lindsay Gardner of Beaver Falls; Jennifer Rosso of Monaca; and Lakeshia Tucker of Midland.
“In my day, teachers were celebrated for what they did,” said PA Cyber CEO Dr. Nick Trombetta. “At PA Cyber we praise our teachers for the outstanding service they provide, as they should be.”

Trombetta and Michael Young, vice president and general manager of KDKA, presented each honoree with a commemorative gift at the third annual Teacher of the Month luncheon Wednesday, March 17.
“How can we recognize all the good work you do?” said Young. “We can’t. This is a small token to show how proud we are of what you do. But hopefully some of those kids you teach will become teachers and carry on what you’ve done.”
PA Cyber and KDKA News Radio 1020 choose one teacher each month to recognize. KDKA broadcast the name and achievements of each recipient.
In addition to the personal gift, KDKA provided a catered lunch for PA Cyber faculty and staff members.
Since the Teacher of the Month program began in 2007, 39 teachers have been honored. PA Cyber principal Dr. Ken Powell said, “PA Cyber is very fortunate to have such dedicated professionals whose work is of the highest quality.”
