PA Cyber opens new Pittsburgh office, plans statewide open house events
Sep 3, 2015
The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School will kick off the new school year with a grand opening of its new office on Pittsburgh's South Side and open houses at its seven other local offices across Pennsylvania.
The Pittsburgh office grand opening and all open house events are coordinated on the same day and time, Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 6 p.m.
The new Pittsburgh office is located at 2600 East Carson Street, in a 3,000-square-foot first floor commercial space in The Brix at 26, an historic building whose upper floors have been converted into upscale apartment units.
"We're very excited about the new location on the South Side," said David Veon, supervisor of regional offices. "It's in a beautifully redeveloped building right on East Carson Street, very close to the South Side Works shopping area."
Administrators of several PA Cyber departments and programs will be on hand to talk to families during the grand opening, including the guidance office, Family Link, and the STEM program, said Veon.
PA Cyber families are invited to stop in, meet the office staff and learn more about PA Cyber's programs and activities. Jacqueline Laffey is office manager, LaVada Cox-Hill is receptionist, and Moshe Sherman is admissions counselor.
Regular activities and programs at all PA Cyber offices, including the new Pittsburgh office, include admissions, student orientation, academic enrichment, ArtReach, and social events such as field trips, movie days, and seasonal parties. Regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Other PA Cyber local offices are located in Allentown, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, State College, Greensburg, Erie and Wexford. All will host open house activities for PA Cyber families on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 6 p.m.
