Free digital photo classes at PA Cyber offices

Nov 4, 2015

A free two-hour class entitled "Digital Photography: iPhones to DSLRs" will be offered at six regional Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School offices across Pennsylvania during the month of November.

"All cameras, including those in cellphones, have lenses and use ISO, f-stops and shutter speeds to take pictures. New cellphones such as the iPhone 6 even have manual controls," said Fred Miller, instructor. "This class is for those who want to improve their photography by understanding how their camera works."

Basic composition and lighting are to be discussed. Participants are to bring their cameras.

The class is among on-site enrichment activities offered for PA Cyber students at regional offices. Parents, friends and the public are invited to participate, space permitting. Class size is limited to 20. Preregistration at each office is required.

Miller is communications coordinator for Lincoln Learning Solutions and is advisor to the 140-member PA Cyber Student Photography Club. He has used photography personally and professionally for 40 years in newspaper photojournalism, public relations and freelance photography.
