Fall Festivals, College and Trade Fairs top list of Family Link, regional offices fall events

The fall season serves as the backdrop for scads of school activities, ranging from science workshops and crafty outings to museum visits and cultural events.
Topping off this month’s activities are fall festivals at regional offices across the state. Students and their families can expect each office to be decked out in autumnal themes and colors, while serving as the hub for seasonal activities, that may include pumpkin carving, arts and crafts, games, and refreshments and snacks. Office managers emailed invitations to the event to families in each region of the state. The fall festivals are in:
- State College on Tuesday, October 17 at 6p.m.
- Harrisburg on Wednesday, October 18 at 3p.m.
- Allentown on Tuesday, October 24 at 2p.m.
- Erie on Tuesday, October 24 at 5p.m.
- Pittsburgh on Wednesday, October 25 at 5:30 p.m.
- Wexford on Thursday, October 26 at 6 p.m.
- Greensburg on Thursday, October 26 at 1p.m.
- Philadelphia on Monday, October 30 at 1p.m.
For students beginning to contemplate their post-secondary educational careers, PA Cyber is organizing college and trade fairs and tours across the state and online. Representatives from community colleges, universities, trade and technical schools, and business institutions will be able to answer questions about their schools, and break-out groups will focus on college-prep exams, such as the SAT, and financial aid. Here’s what’s happening:
- Pittsburgh College Info Session on Monday, October 16 at 11a.m.
- State College Penn State University Nursing Tour on Monday, October 16 at 1p.m.
- Statewide - No matter their location, students may attend the online college fair on Tuesday, October 17 from noon - 1.pm. or from 3p.m.- 4p.m. Ask questions and register for the event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Greensburg College Info Session on October 18 at noon.
- Philadelphia College Info Session on Thursday, October 19 at 1p.m and 5p.m.
- Wexford Post-Secondary Fair on Thursday, October 19 at 1p.m.
- Allentown College Info Session on Friday, October 20 at 1p.m.
- Nursing Tour at PSU Harrisburg on Thursday, October 26 at 8a.m.
- State College PSU Education Tour on Thursday, November 9 at 1p.m.
- State College PSU College of Arts and Architecture Tour on Monday, November 13 at 1p.m.
- Erie College Info Session and Trade Fair on Tuesday, November 14 at 2p.m. - 7p.m.
PA Cyber also is focusing on helping students to be healthy and fit. Students and families can expect to have opportunities throughout the year that encourage them to be active. Here’s what’s coming up to get students moving and thinking about their health:
