A nationally recognized leader in the reform and innovation of public education,Dr. Nick Trombetta is the CEO of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, the premier online K-12 public charter school for students and their families in combining the best technology, personal instruction and approved curriculum with highly qualified teachers.
The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School opened for the 2000-2001 academic year with just over 500 students. Today, PA Cyber serves over 7,000 K-12 students across the state of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Trombetta is also the founder of the National Network of Digital Schools (NNDS), a management foundation which offers services that enable schools to respond to the unique demands of 21st century learners.
NNDS and PA Cyber have come together to launch the Autism Initiative, which is an effort to improve education for students affected by autism spectrum disorders. The effort focuses on K-12 curriculum development, technology, teacher training, arts outreach, public awareness, and support for autistic students on the spectrum and their families.
Previously, Dr. Trombetta was the Superintendent of the Midland Borough School District and a long time teacher and wrestling coach at East Liverpool High School in Ohio.
Dr. Trombetta is an alumnus of Quigley Catholic High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Slippery Rock State University, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Dayton. He earned his doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh in 2000.
